Level 3 Teaching Assistant
The Governors of this happy and successful school are looking to appoint experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant
The role will include:
- To work with groups of children under the supervision of the teacher including the implementation the delivery of programmes of work and implementation of ILPs.
- Use specialist (curricular learning) skills/training/experience to support pupils.
- Establish good relationships with pupils, taking on role model by presenting a positive personal image and responding appropriately to individual needs.
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
- Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities.
- Promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self reliance.
- Give regular feedback on children’s progress to the class teacher and file records.
- Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement.
- Attend to children’s personal needs, including minor first aid and provide advice on pastoral, social health, physical hygiene and welfare matters.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age.
- Experience of working with pupils with additional needs.
- Numeracy/literacy skills with a good level of knowledge and understanding (at a level equivalent to NQF Level 2).
- NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Willingness and ability to undertake HLTA Level responsibilities (refer to HLTA standards).
- Willingness to participate in training, performance management and self evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
- Training in the relevant learning strategies and /or in a particular curriculum or learning area, e.g. bilingual.
- Ability to relate well to children and adults.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- An understanding of the role of the Teaching Assistant and other professionals working in the classroom.
Working hours per week: This would be for 33.75 hours per week between the hours of 8.30am and 3.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. 08.30a.m. to 4.45p.m. on Wednesdays to allow attendance at staff meeting
Salary: Grade 4 point 7-11
Contract Type: Temporary up to the 31st August 2026
Start Date: 1st September 2025

Level 2 1:1 Teaching Assistants x 4
The Governors of this happy and successful school are looking to appoint experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistants to support children with high level need.
The role will include:
- supporting the child to develop their speech and language skills
- supporting the child to learn new vocabulary
- breaking down instructions and tasks into smaller, more manageable steps
- helping the child to listen and checking they have understood
- supporting the child to develop their fine motor skills
- supporting the child to develop their confidence
The role may include:
- administration of medication
- lifting and handling
- intimate care or toileting support
The successful candidate will:
- have a genuine passion and the energy and commitment to work 1:1 with children with
- additional needs.
- be suitably qualified with demonstrable experience
- committed to their own professional development
- Understand the Primary Curriculum
- have a GCSE pass level in literacy and numeracy and be confident using ICT
- have the ability to work successfully in a team.
- be able to work on their own initiative.
- have excellent communication skills
- be willing to undertake first aid training
Working hours per week: This would be for 28.75 hours per week between the hours of 8.45am and 3.00pm or 9a.m. to 3:15p.m. Additional hours may also be available.
Salary: Grade 3 point 4
